The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has commenced an electronic membership registration exercise aimed at strengthening its database and repositioning the party ahead of future political engagements.

The initiative was unveiled by the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Sadiq Achida, during a meeting with state executives and local government party chairmen at the APC Secretariat in Sokoto.

Achida said the e-registration exercise was designed to digitalise the party’s membership records, eliminate duplication, and ensure accurate documentation of members across the state.

According to him, the exercise would enhance internal organisation, improve planning and boost the party’s readiness for upcoming elections, urging members to participate actively to validate their membership status.

He disclosed that the registration would be carried out across the 23 local government areas of the state, with trained and computer-literate personnel deployed to ensure a smooth process.

Achida noted that prominent party leaders have already been captured on the new platform, with Senator Aliyu Magatarkada Wamakko listed as the number one member, followed by Governor Ahmed Aliyu.

He explained that the exercise aligns with the APC’s nationwide effort to modernise its membership structure, allowing existing members to update their records while creating room for new entrants into the party.

The party leadership expressed confidence that the digital registration would further strengthen unity and coordination within the APC in Sokoto State.
