The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State has reaffirmed it’s support for Austin Agada as the legitimate chairman of the party.

It strongly condemned claims challenging the Agada’s legitimacy by one Benjamin Omale describing the allegations as false and politically motivated.

This was contained in a statement on Thursday by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Daniel Ihomun.

The party dismissed a report credited to one Benjamin Omale, who accused Agada of unlawfully parading himself as chairman and attending a recent national meeting of the party in Abuja without invitation.

Ihomun debunked these claims, reaffirming that Agada remains the duly elected and recognized chairman of the party in Benue State.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Austine Agada, the State Chairman of the APC, remains in office by virtue of his election through a properly conducted congress.

” There has been no valid or lawful process for his removal, as affirmed by a landmark judgment of the Benue State High Court.”

He emphasized that Agada’s attendance at the APC National Meeting was legitimate and in line with his position as the state chairman.

“The insinuation that he was not invited is not only false but a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and undermine his leadership.” Ihomun added.

Ihomun dismissed Omale’s credibility that he is unknown to the party in Benue and has no official standing within its structure.

“Omale is neither a registered member of the APC in Onyagede-Ihaje Ward of Ohimini Local Government nor does the so-called ‘Office of Unity Committee Chairman’ exist in the party’s constitution.”

He called on the public and party members to disregard what it termed a smear campaign against Agada, warning that legal action may be taken against those spreading falsehoods.

“The party remains united and focused on delivering good governance to the people of Benue State.”

Similarly, party members have thrown their weight behind Agada, hailing his commitment to strengthening the party and driving the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

A senior party stakeholder, who spoke on condition of anonymity, warned against distractions aimed at derailing the party’s focus in Benue.

“Agada has demonstrated capacity, resilience, and leadership. Any attempt to discredit him will only strengthen his position,” the source stated.
