APC Governors Hold Closed Door Meeting In Abuja Ahead Of Crucial NEC Meeting

Governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) held a closed-door meeting on Wednesday in Abuja.

Naijaonpoint reports that the meeting took place at the Imo State government lodge in Abuja.

Led by the Chairman of the All Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo, the Progressive Governors discussed matters of importance ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee meeting scheduled to hold on Thursday.

The roll call of Governors who attended the meeting includes Governors Babagana Zulum (Borno), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) and Monday Okpebholo (Edo).

Others include Bassey Otu (Cross River), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Usman Ododo (Kogi) and Senator Uba Sani (Kaduna).

Although the meeting’s agenda was not made public, it is understood that the meeting may be related to the selection of a new National Chairman for the party.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a change in the venue for its 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, 24th July, 2025.

Naijaonpoint reports that the APC had earlier scheduled the meeting to hold at its ‘Buhari House’ national secretariat in Abuja.

However, a statement on Wednesday by the party’s spokesman, Felix Morka, said the meeting would now be held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.

He cited logistical reasons for the change in venue.

“The All Progressives Congress APC announces that the meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) scheduled to be held on Thursday, 24th July, 2025, will now take place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“The change of venue from the Party’s National Secretariat – 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja, is due to logistical reasons,” Morka said.
