Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have withdrawn their support for Mudashiru Obasa’s 2027 gubernatorial ambition following his impeachment as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The group backing his political aspirations, operating under the banner of “The Mudashiru Movement – Muda Eko Obasa Lagos 2027,” has reportedly dissolved, citing concerns over his political viability post-impeachment.

This was revealed by a group known as Renewed Hope United Kingdom on X (formerly Twitter).

According to the group, “APC members have withdrawn support from Obasa’s 2027 gubernatorial aspiration under the banner of “The Mudashiru Movement – Muda Eko Obasa Lagos 2027.”

Obasa, who was unseated on Monday over allegations of financial impropriety and statutory breaches, had been positioning himself as a contender to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

However, his removal is said to have triggered a wave of dissent within the APC ranks, leaving his political future in limbo.

Party insiders have disclosed that Obasa’s impeachment exposed deep rifts within the APC and eroded the confidence of key stakeholders in his ability to lead Lagos State.
