The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Monday receive and deliberate on the report of the Osun State Screening Appeal Committee, which reviewed the disqualification of seven governorship aspirants ahead of the party’s December 13 primary election.

The five-member panel, chaired by Senator Tolu Odebiyi, concluded a two-day sitting in Abuja and is expected to present its findings to the NWC, the party’s highest administrative organ, for ratification.

Those seeking to overturn their disqualification include:

Former National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore

Former Deputy Governor, Benedict Olugboyega Alabi

Dotun Babayemi

Akin Ogunbiyi

Senator Babajide Omoworare

Kunle Adegoke (SAN)

Babatunde Haketer Oralusi

They had earlier been disqualified by the Barrister Obinna Uzor-led screening committee.

By contrast, the panel confirmed only Hon. Mulikat Adeola Jimoh and Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as having met the requirements of the party guidelines, Constitution and the Electoral Act.

The disqualified aspirants were thereafter referred to the NWC for a final decision on whether they would be allowed to contest.

An appeal panel member, who spoke on condition of anonymity to The Nation, described the sessions as cordial and productive.

“The two-day exercise was conducted peacefully and in a family-like atmosphere,” the source said, noting that all affected aspirants submitted relevant evidence and documentation in support of their cases.

The report will be transmitted to the NWC through the Office of the National Organising Secretary for consideration at Monday’s meeting.

The party’s delegates congress is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, while the delegate congress appeal will follow on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

The APC governorship primary election will hold on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
