The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of ordering the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to harass and prevent the party from holding its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

Naijaonpoint reports that the meeting was scheduled to be held on June 30, 2025, at the party’s secretariat at Wadada Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, before security operatives took over the PDP headquarters and barred the BoT members.

In a post via 𝕏, the PDP alleged that the APC is responsible for the chaos that happened at the party’s secretariat.

... read, “Federal Police and other security agencies, on the orders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are harassing Board of Trustees members and staff of our party’s National Secretariat in a bid to stop the scheduled meeting.”

In other news, stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto and Kebbi States have declared their readiness to join any credible coalition or political alliance aimed at unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

In Sokoto, prominent PDP leaders, including former Governor Aminu Tambuwal, have reportedly agreed to merge with the newly formed political platform, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), one of the 110 political parties seeking registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

A reliable source told Punch that the decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, where plans to defect from the PDP to the ADA were finalised.
