The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced its e-membership registration exercise across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, in a move aimed at strengthening the party’s internal structure and improving documentation.

The development was announced on Wednesday by the National Chairman of the party, Nentawe Yilwatda, via a post on his verified 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to Yilwatda, the registration and validation exercise will be conducted at the ward level nationwide, ensuring grassroots participation by party members.

He explained that the initiative covers both existing and prospective members of the ruling party.

“All existing members are expected to validate their membership online, while new and intending members are warmly encouraged to register and become part of the progressive family,” the APC chairman stated.

Yilwatda noted that the exercise was critical to ensuring proper record-keeping, strengthening the party, and guaranteeing full participation of members in APC activities.

He added that a credible and up-to-date membership register would enhance internal democracy and decision-making within the party.

“The exercise is vital for proper documentation, party strengthening, and full participation in APC activities and decision-making,” he said.

Reiterating the importance of the initiative, the APC chairman described the e-membership drive as a step towards building a more united and resilient party.

“A stronger register means a stronger party and a more united progressive movement,” Yilwatda said.

He also urged party members and supporters to embrace the exercise as an opportunity to renew their commitment to the party and democratic ideals.

“Let us seize this opportunity to deepen our democracy, renew our commitment, and move forward together,” he added.
