APC will capture all South-West states but I won’t reveal our secret – Ganduje

Ganduje made this statement yesterday while leading members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure, the state capital.

Ganduje was accompanied by Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Ogun’s Dapo Abiodun, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Talabi Olatokunbo.

Other attendees included Isaac Kekemeke (APC Deputy National Chairman, South), Senator Ajibola Bashiru (APC National Secretary), Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and other notable party members from the South-West.

During the meeting, Ganduje emphasized that the ruling party is diligently working to expand its influence in preparation for the 2027 general elections. He highlighted the importance of winning Oyo and Osun states to bolster President Bola Tinubu’s support in the southern region.

While he refrained from disclosing the party’s strategies for winning in these states, Ganduje urged APC leaders to unite and foster solidarity among party members and supporters.

He described the Ondo governorship election as an easy win for the APC, asserting that all national leaders are backing the incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

“In this geopolitical zone, we must achieve100 percent support for the APC. Therefore, Ondo State must lead the charge, and we will also capture the two other states—Oyo and Osun—but I won’t reveal our plans. We are strategizing, and everything must align fully behind President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“For this upcoming election, we stand firmly behind Governor Aiyedatiwa. We have made national-level arrangements to ensure a successful election, and I announce Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the Chairman of the National Campaign Council.

“This election is a crucial task. The large turnout of stakeholders here demonstrates unity, solidarity, and energy within the party. We are aiming for90 percent of the votes in the forthcoming governorship election. It’s essential to engage in door-to-door campaigning to ensure voter turnout,” he stated.

Ganduje also urged party aspirants who contested against Aiyedatiwa for the governorship ticket to put aside their differences and support the governor in the upcoming election.

“I want to remind those who ran in the primary against Aiyedatiwa that there are no losers here; there is no victor or vanquished in this process.”

Sanwo-Olu, in his remarks, emphasized that the party grows stronger when its members unite. He stressed the importance of not allowing Ondo to fall to opposition parties and called for all factions to set aside their differences in support of Aiyedatiwa.

“The entire party leadership has come to Ondo to show appreciation. You may have faced challenging times and feel aggrieved, but it’s crucial that we come together as one.

“No one should be left behind, as everyone plays a vital role in achieving victory in the upcoming election. This gathering is about uniting all of us and ensuring we all agree. This message of unity needs to resonate throughout the18 local government areas of the state. The President is fully aware of our efforts here and has endorsed them.

“When we unite, we become a formidable force against any opposition. We need everyone on board, regardless of our differences, which is why collaboration is essential.”
