APC Will Return To Power In 2027 – Yari Assures Members In Zamfara

Yari new

Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has vowed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will return to power in the state in 2027.

Naijaonpoint reports that Zamfara is currently being ruled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Governor Dauda Lawal.

However, while addressing party stakeholders at his Talata Mafara residence on Saturday, November 2, Yari insisted that the APC could not be regarded as an opposition party in Zamfara given its national strength and influence.

“Our presence here is to strengthen confidence among members and remind them that APC remains the ruling party in Nigeria,” Yari said.

“By 2027, we will return to lead Zamfara State. We cannot continue to be called the opposition.”

The meeting attracted thousands of party loyalists, reaffirming unity within the Zamfara APC and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Prominent political figures at the event included the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; Senator Sahabi Ya’u (Zamfara North); Hon. Abdulmalik Zannan-Bungudu; Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi; and former deputy governors Ibrahim Wakala, Muktar Ahmed Anka, and Hassan Muhammad Nasiha.

Yari emphasised that despite losing control of the state in the last election, the APC’s national dominance and grassroots structures positioned it strongly for a comeback.

“Zamfara remains an APC state by spirit and structure,” he said. “Our mission now is to strengthen the base and prepare to reclaim the mandate that belongs to our people.”

He noted that the party would intensify mobilisation across wards and local governments, ensuring that no member felt abandoned or disillusioned.

Speaking at the meeting, the state APC chairman, Umar Tukur Danfulani, urged members to remain united, loyal, and focused ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The task ahead requires teamwork and discipline,” Danfulani said. “We must avoid internal divisions and work together to bring back APC to the Government House in Gusau.”

He expressed confidence that with renewed coordination and stakeholder collaboration, the APC would consolidate its strength both in the state and nationally.

The stakeholders also used the opportunity to reaffirm their support for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, pledging full cooperation with the Federal Government’s developmental agenda.

Yari commended the president’s economic reforms and urged party members to rally behind ongoing national initiatives aimed at stabilising the economy and improving security.

“We stand firmly with President Tinubu and the APC-led government,” he said. “The policies being implemented today will pave the way for growth, and Zamfara must be part of that success story.”
