Apply For Women Photograph Project Grants 2024 – Get Up To $5,000

Applications are now being accepted for the Women Photograph Project Grants 2024. These grants are designed to support photography projects, whether they are new initiatives or works in progress, undertaken by visual journalists focusing on documentary work.

The initiative aims to provide support for five grants, with a specific allocation for at least one nonbinary or transgender photographer.

Funding Allocation

  • Grant Amount: Up to $5,000.
  • Utilization: Funding can be utilized to cover various expenses related to reporting, including creative fees for photographers and other production costs essential for the development of new work. However, it is important to note that these grants do not extend support for the production of secondary materials such as books, exhibitions, or workshops.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant Pool: Open to women, nonbinary, transgender, and intersex documentary photographers from any nationality.
  • Inclusivity: Women Photograph’s commitment to inclusivity extends to supporting photographers representing diverse identities, geographies, and experiences.
  • Membership Requirement: Membership in Women Photograph is not a prerequisite for applying.
  • Application Limit: Only one submission per open call is permitted.
  • Language: Applications must be submitted in English, although translations through services like Google Translate are accepted.
  • Equipment: There are no restrictions on the type of camera equipment used for the grant projects.

Application Process

  • Applicants are encouraged to submit a cohesive story rather than individual photographs as part of their grant application. While the images need not be directly related to the project proposal, applicants should specify if they are unrelated.
