Two independent non-executive directors and a non-executive director have been appointed to the board of an energy company in Nigeria, Aradel Holdings Plc.
The appointees are Mr Olusola Adeeyo as a non-executive director, Mr Mahmud Tukur as an independent non-executive director, and Mr George Osahon also as an independent non-executive director.
A statement signed by the company secretary, Ms Titilola Omisore, disclosed that the appointments will take effect from Friday, July 25, 2025, “subject to ratification by the shareholders at the next annual general meeting (AGM) of the company.”
Mr Tukur has over 29 years of experience in the energy, maritime, and infrastructure sectors, rising to become the chief executive of Eterna Plc in 2010 at the age of 37.
A year later, he established Ashgrove Group, a conglomerate comprising four operating companies; Ashgrove Energy Limited, Ashgrove Exploration and Production Limited, Ashgrove Petroleum Limited, and Ashgrove Investments Limited.
As for Mr Osahon, he is armed with about 40 years of experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, joining the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited in 2001 and then becoming the Group General Manager of the Nigerian Content Division in 2007. Currently, he is the Managing Director of Geo-Concept Technical Limited, a consultancy that provides strategic guidance to operators and asset holders in the upstream oil and gas sector.
On his part, Mr Adeeyo retired as a banker and was part of the pioneer treasury and foreign exchange unit of the Nigeria International Bank (NIB), now CITI Group, a subsidiary of CITI Bank NY.
In 1991, he founded Asset and Investment Limited and was responsible for arranging and raising debts for some states in Nigeria as well as trading companies. He participated in establishing other businesses, including co-founding Protea Hotel Oakwood Park, Lagos.
The hotel was part of an international hotel brand managed and operated by the Protea Hotel Group of South Africa, now Marriot Hotels Group. He also founded Astral Waters Limited, a water production, bottling and delivery business.
