THE Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), a leading socio-cultural and quasi-political organization in northern Nigeria, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the administration of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The declaration was made today when members of the ACF leadership paid a courtesy visit to Vice President Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the ACF Board of Trustees, Bashir Dalhatu, also extended an invitation to the Vice President to attend the Forum’s upcoming 25th anniversary celebration.
Dalhatu commended the strong working relationship between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, describing Shettima as “the number one ambassador of the North” within the federal government.
He commended the Vice President’s loyalty to the President and his efforts to advance the interests of both the North and the entire country.
“For us northerners, the Vice President carries our spirit, image, and aspirations. We are proud of the loyalty and dedication he and other northern leaders have shown to this administration,” Dalhatu said.
He emphasized that the Forum remains steadfast in its support for the current government but would continue to offer constructive criticism when necessary to promote the overall development of the country.
Founded in 2000, the Arewa Consultative Forum was established to unify the political and cultural interests of northern Nigeria.
Over the years, the group has intervened in regional conflicts, promoted economic and social initiatives, and fostered dialogue among diverse communities in the North.
Dalhatu noted that the ACF has played a key role in reducing regional conflicts and encouraging self-reliance and economic growth across the North.
He expressed optimism that the Forum’s silver jubilee celebration would serve as a platform to strengthen national unity and inter-regional cooperation.
“We intend to use the occasion to promote peace and goodwill among Nigerians,” he said, adding that groups such as Afenifere, PANDEF, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo have been invited to participate in the event as a symbol of unity and shared progress.
