WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Chaos erupted at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council Secretariat in Utako, Abuja, as armed thugs associated with Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, launched a violent assault on the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria (BCAN) during their inauguration ceremony. The attack took place shortly after Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande had departed the event. The group, affiliated with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), had rented the main hall for the occasion. Wearing caps emblazoned with MC Oluomo’s portrait, the thugs burst into the venue armed with machetes, knives, bottles, and sticks. Led by Segun Aluwaye, who claimed to be the chairman of Berger Park, they forcefully opened the secretariat’s main gate and unleashed chaos upon government officials, guests, and participants. Many were injured, and valuable items were destroyed. BCAN Chairman Prince Israel Ade Adeshola expressed his shock, calling the incident unfortunate. He stated, “We gathered at the NUJ Secretariat today to inaugurate the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria (BCAN). During the event, some miscreants stormed in wielding cutlasses, daggers, knives, and other dangerous weapons, forcefully driving out dignitaries and invited guests while injuring numerous members. “They wore caps featuring Oluomo’s image and damaged many items.” “They also assaulted security personnel, including police officers, DSS agents, and Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO). They chased people into various offices, leaving many injured.” The police have yet to issue a statement on the incident.
