The Nigerian Army has dismissed four soldiers serving in the North-East theatre of operations for allegedly flouting a military standing order, even as the frontline continues to reel from intensified attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists.
Naijaonpoint reports that the affected soldiers are Mukaila Mutari (22NA/88/10253), Isah Emmanuel (22NA/83/7262), Kolomo Alex (24NA/86/5151) and Ibrahim Musa (24NA/86/0885).
According to Sahara Reporters, photographs of the dismissed personnel in their desert camouflage uniforms surfaced online on Wednesday. Their dismissal was dated Monday, November 17, 2025.
A standing order in military terms refers to a permanent directive or instruction issued by a superior officer, which remains in force until officially cancelled or amended.
The Army has not, however, disclosed the specific standing order allegedly breached by the four soldiers. The circumstances surrounding the disciplinary action remain unclear as of press time.
The development comes on the same day the military confirmed the capture and killing of Brigadier-General Musa Uba by ISWAP terrorists.
Top military commanders, including the Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, were reported to have stormed the Damboa military base in Borno State last Saturday to coordinate rescue operations for abducted personnel.
According to earlier reports, the officers’ abduction followed a violent ambush by ISWAP fighters, which resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and two Civilian Joint Task Force members.
SaharaReporters also reported that ISWAP launched another coordinated attack on a Nigerian military convoy late Friday night, killing several soldiers and CJTF operatives in the North-East.
