Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has commented on his side’s disappointing loss to Nottingham Forest after they staged a remarkable comeback to secure a win against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League, Soccernet.football reports.

The Reds saw their perfect start to the season come to a halt on Saturday with a shock 1-0 defeat to Forest on home turf. However, they rebounded with a 3-1 comeback victory over Milan on Tuesday night.

Christian Pulisic’s early strike gave Milan the lead, but Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk turned the game on its head before halftime. Dominik Szoboszlai then added a stunning third to secure all three points for the Reds.

Quizzed about the players’ response to conceding within the first three minutes, the Dutchman, reflecting on the mindset of his side, told Amazon Prime; “I think that was the positive aspect.”

“After losing on Saturday, which was quite a blow for us to be honest, and then to be 1-0 down after five minutes, and an early chance as well, although it was offside. You’re always wondering how the team reacts.

“I think we showed how good we can be on the ball. That’s what I said after the game, if you can play so good, it’s almost…maybe to use the word disgrace is too much, but it’s unbelievable that you lose to Forest at home if you can play this well today.”

Liverpool picked up all three points against their Italian counterparts in their first game of the new-look Champions League. The Reds will be back in Premier League action on Saturday, when they play hosts to Bournemouth.
