After years of speculation and scouting, Arsenal have finally returned with intent and are pushing to land Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman, Footynaija.com reports.
The Atalanta forward, who just wrapped up a sensational season in Italy, has emerged once again as a serious target for Mikel Arteta’s side. Atalanta reportedly received a new approach from Arsenal.
The 2024 CAF Player of the Year is ready for the next phase of his career, and sources close to the player have confirmed his desire to return to the Premier League. Reports indicate that the Gunners previously made an enquiry for him last summer but were turned down.
The former Fulham and Leicester winger scored 15 goals in Serie A last season, finishing joint-third in the Golden Boot race. He also helped Atalanta to third place in the league, sealing Champions League qualification.
His European form didn’t go unnoticed either; just last year, he scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, powering Atalanta to their first-ever European trophy.
As revealed by Goal.com, Arsenal have reignited their interest in the 27-year-old, with reliable journalist Alfredo Pedullà revealing that Atalanta would consider offers in the region of €50 million. The report also noted that Lookman is “dreaming” of a return to England.
With two years left on his contract, Atalanta are open to selling but only on their terms. Behind the scenes, they’ve started identifying replacements.
Across all competitions in 2024–25, he produced 20 goals and 7 assists in 44 appearances, combining pace, sharp movement, and a growing hunger in the final third.
