Ademola Lookman was linked with a move to Inter Milan before the transfer window slammed shut, but nothing concrete materialised…
2024 UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta are already preparing for life without Ademola Lookman, eyeing Galatasaray’s Yunus Akgün as a potential replacement, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman has played just 76 minutes of football for La Dea this season. This is largely as a result of his absence from training in a bid to force a move to Inter Milan.
However, despite Inter Milan’s offers, Atalanta maintained their stance of not selling the England-born forward to another Italian team.

Atalanta want Yunus Akgün to replace Lookman
With the Nigerian striker yet to be involved in a goal contribution for club and country across all competitions this season, the Serie A side are preparing to part ways with him if an offer comes in.
Galatasaray were interested in Lookman, but they were offering a loan with an option to buy, which Atalanta turned down.
Both sides could reach a peace offering at the end of the season in a direct swap deal if the 2024 CAF Player of the Year wants to join Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray.

As per Foot Italia via NTV Spor, Atalanta wants a transfer for Yunus Akgün before the start of the 2026 World Cup during the interim transfer period.
It is thought that Turkey has a great chance to participate in the World Cup and that the transfer may cost more after Yunus Akgün’s performance at the World Cup.
On the other hand, one of the biggest obstacles to Atalanta was the 25-year-old signing a new four-year contract with Galatasaray.
According to the report, the ex-Leicester man is ranked at the top of Atalanta’s transfer list, but how the transfer will take place is not known yet.

Akgün’s current market value is €15m, but it is expected that the Cim Bom Aslan will ask for double that should Atalanta enquire about the Turkiye International.
