Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday declared his participation in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, alongside the likes of former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
In a post via his official 𝕏 handle on Thursday, Atiku described the meeting as a gathering of Nigerians committed to challenging “the oligarchs who promote poverty and insecurity.”
“I am currently at the stakeholders meeting of the Coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja. It’s a meeting of the Nigerian people against the oligarchs who promote poverty and insecurity in the land.”
Atiku’s presence at the meeting signals his deeper involvement in ADC’s evolving role as a coalition platform ahead of the 2027 polls.
Others at the meeting include former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy from 2019 to 2023, Isa Ali Pantami and former Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Meanwhile, former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday, attended a critical stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The meeting represents the first significant political meeting to be attended by Ganduje since resigning as the APC National Chairman in June 2025.
Naijaonpoint reports that the Kano APC meeting, which was held behind closed doors, also had in attendance several party stalwarts, including Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senator Kawu Sumaila, members of the House of Representatives, as well as both former and current political officeholders.
While the agenda of the meeting has not been made public, it is understood that the focus of the meeting is to strengthen the party’s position for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
