Edo North lawmaker, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has predicted victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Oshiomhole, who spoke on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, stated that Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, either collectively or individually, stand no chance against Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Edo State Governor boasted that the APC had defeated Atiku and Obi in previous elections when they ran together and when they contested individually, and the 2027 elections won’t produce a different result.
He said: “Did Atiku and Obi not run together before and contested against APC? You can throw any number you want to throw but the point is that when these two ran together, they were loudly defeated by APC. So why are you suggesting if the two, when they did before, what happened?
“You are the one who is recycling history. They have a history of being defeated together, and they have a history of being defeated apart. They ran together. They were defeated. They ran separately, they were defeated. If they come back together, very good. They will still be defeated.”
Meanwhile, the Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has advised former President, Goodluck Jonathan, not to heed calls to re-contest the presidency in 2027.
Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday, Jandor warned that Jonathan would be taking a “political risk” by challenging President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as “a master in the game of politics.”
Adediran dismissed claims that Jonathan was the only figure capable of matching Tinubu, insisting that the current president’s political strength and resilience set him apart.
