WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Apollo Nida, best known as the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks, is facing yet another chapter of legal and personal turmoil. Media Take Out confirmed that his current wife, Sherien Copes, has officially filed for divorce, citing adultery and cruel treatment as the reasons for their split. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Sherien filed for divorce on February 7, marking the end of their brief marriage, which began on October 14, 2022. She listed their separation date as November 1, 2023, making it clear that their union was short-lived and, according to her, deeply troubled. Sherien’s filing paints a grim picture of their marriage. She claims that Apollo repeatedly committed adultery and emotionally and physically abused her. In addition, she alleges that he refused to seek professional help for his mental health struggles, which she says contributed to ongoing emotional distress—not just for her, but for her daughter as well. Sherien further states that Apollo intentionally abandoned her for at least a year. Despite these serious claims, she is not seeking alimony and simply wants the court to officially end their marriage while overseeing the division of any shared assets and debts. On the same day she filed for divorce, Sherien also submitted an alleged settlement agreement that she claims she and Apollo signed in October. According to this document, both parties agreed to continue living in their marital home while searching for separate residences and finalizing their asset division. Notably, the agreement includes a permanent restraining order against Apollo, prohibiting him from harassing or stalking Sherien. However, the language in the document states that by signing, Apollo does not admit to any past misconduct but agrees to refrain from such behavior in the future. While this agreement appears to have been signed months ago, it was only submitted to the court recently. Apollo, however, has denied consenting to the terms, telling In Touch, “I did not agree to anything. We will have to have our day in court. A lot of that language is false.” This isn’t the first time Apollo’s name has been tied to controversy. Back in March 2024, he was arrested for an alleged simple assault following an incident involving Sherien. His past legal troubles also include a high-profile fraud conviction that led to years in federal prison, a sentence he completed before marrying Sherien. As the divorce proceedings unfold, it’s clear that Apollo and Sherien’s legal battle is far from over. With conflicting accounts and serious accusations, this case may turn into a drawn-out courtroom showdown. Whether Apollo truly agreed to the settlement or not, one thing is certain—his personal life continues to make headlines, and not for the right reasons. Adultery, Abuse, and Desertion Allegations
