Serie A side Atalanta have lowered their valuation of Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman as interest from several top European clubs continues to mount, Soccernet.ng reports.

Lookman’s future has been a subject of intense speculation over the past year, fueled by his stellar performances for La Dea.

The 28-year-old forward has been a remarkably consistent performer for the Bergamo-based club, contributing 55 goals and 27 assists in 136 appearances.

Recall that last summer, Lookman was heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan, but Atalanta blocked the transfer.

The club stood firm on a €50 million release clause — a figure the Nerazzurri were unwilling to meet.

Consequently, Lookman remained at the Gewiss Stadium, but the transfer saga seemed to take a toll on him, as evidenced by a noticeable decline in his goal involvements this season.

Despite the dip in form, interest in the former Everton man remains high. Several clubs are currently weighing up a move for the Nigerian international during the January transfer window.

According to transfer specialist Ekrem Konur, Atalanta have now reduced their asking price to €35 million.

This price drop comes as little surprise given Lookman’s recent struggles, but the new valuation remains a tantalizing prospect for his numerous suitors.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid are long-term admirers of Lookman and are considering a move for the versatile forward.

However, the Spanish giants are yet to initiate formal contact with either Atalanta or the player’s representatives regarding a deal.

On the other hand, Turkish champions Galatasaray have been active behind the scenes, pulling strings to secure the Nigerian’s services, though nothing concrete has materialized just yet.

With roughly 18 months remaining on his current contract, Atalanta are well aware that they must cash in soon to avoid the risk of losing their star man for free.
