Revenue officers in Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have undergone a one-day training to keep them abreast of modern revenue collection techniques.
The programme, held recently at the council’s secretary in the Ipaja area of Lagos State, was to also equip participants with effective communication and ethical practices.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Mr Amuwa Mayowa, said the interactive session provided the revenue officers with practical strategies to overcome field challenges and improve their overall performance in revenue generation.
The chairman of the council, Mr Lukmon Agbaje, in his address, commended the facilitator for delivering an insightful session and applauded the officers for their active participation.
He emphasized that continuous training and professional development remain key priorities of his administration to promote excellence, transparency, and efficiency in governance, reminding the revenue officials of their critical role in driving the LCDA’s internally generated revenue (IGR) and urged them to put the newly acquired knowledge into practice.
The council chief reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a competent, motivated, and accountable workforce capable of delivering quality service to the people of Ayobo-Ipaja.
In their remarks, the participants thanked Mr Agbaje for his consistent support and for providing an enabling environment for growth and development. They promised to put what they learned from the workshop into good use for the progress of the LCDA.
