Atlanta rapper B.o.B is facing a new lawsuit filed by a woman who accuses him of sexual assault following an alleged encounter in California earlier this year.
The complaint, filed Nov. 7, claims the woman met the rapper, whose legal name is Bobby Ray Simmons Jr., after his April 2025 performance at the Tequila & Taco Music Festival in San Diego. According to the filing, she later joined an afterparty at a downtown hotel, where she says the alleged assault occurred.
The woman alleges she was groped and forcibly touched before she was able to escape. She is seeking damages.
B.o.B has strongly denied all allegations.
In a statement obtained by XXL Magazine, the rapper’s attorney, Leron E. Rogers, called the claims “false,” describing the lawsuit as “a calculated attempt to leverage publicity and extract a financial settlement from a public figure.”
“This filing appears to be a calculated attempt…a baseless ‘money grab’ under the pretense of litigation,” Rogers said. “Mr. Simmons will not be intimidated or coerced by such tactics, nor will he remain silent while his name and reputation are unfairly attacked.”
Rogers also alleged that the plaintiff’s account is “a fabricated narrative,” suggesting she may be using Simmons “as a scapegoat to explain her whereabouts to her husband on the date in question.” He added that “fabricating accusations of this nature is both irresponsible and harmful.”
“Mr. Simmons recognizes that true victims of sexual assault deserve to be heard and supported, and false claims only undermine their pursuit of justice,” the statement continued.
Rogers said the team will not comment further “out of respect for the individuals involved and for the integrity of the legal process.”
As of now, no court date has been set, and representatives for the plaintiff have not publicly commented on the case.
