A graduate of Babcock University has taken to social media to express frustration after spending over ₦10 million on a Political Science degree but failing to secure a job that pays even ₦100,000.

The young man made the revelation in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), where he narrated his experience.

He said it’s been exactly one year since he completed his degree at the private institution, yet the certificate has not helped him land a well-paying job.

“Today makes it one year I graduated from Babcock University. The course I spent over ₦10 million to learn, I haven’t been able to use the certificate to get a job that pays ₦100,000,” he said.

He went on to criticize Nigeria’s education system and questioned the value of certain degrees, describing some of them as “useless” when it comes to real-life job prospects.

He continued: “I went to school to study a very useless course. Some people will not accept the fact. The only people with a future in this country are those who studied accounting, banking and finance, people in the medical field like nursing, med lab, and law.”

He also listed courses like Public Administration, Political Science, International Law and Diplomacy, History, and Food and Nutrition as ones with limited job prospects in Nigeria.

As the video gained attention online, many users took to the comments section to share their thoughts, with some agreeing with his perspective and others offering differing views.
