Four Chinese nationals were abducted yesterday when bandits attacked a mining site in Yagba West local government area of Kogi state.
The attack came less than two weeks after three policemen and two vigilante members were killed by gunmen in the same council area.
Residents said the bandits laid an ambush for the Chinese workers, killing a soldier in the process.
A mobile policeman attached to the Chinese nationals was also shot during the attack.
“We are now living in fear. We cannot sleep in our homes and can no longer go to our farms.
“We want the government and security agents to come to our rescue. This is a systematic elimination of our people,” a resident told Leadership.
