Six students of the Nigerian Law School have reportedly been abducted by suspected armed bandits while travelling to the school’s Yola campus in Adamawa state.
The incident is said to have occurred on Saturday night, July 26, 2025, along the dangerous Wukari-Benue highway, a route notorious for frequent kidnappings and violent attacks.
The victims were reportedly returning to campus after completing their court externship, ahead of the resumption scheduled for Monday, July 28.
A fellow student at the Yola campus, who identified himself simply as Johnson, said the kidnappers have reached out to the families of the victims and are demanding ₦20 million as ransom for their release.
Those confirmed to be missing include Rev. Ernest Okafor, Ogbuka Fabian, Nwamma Philip, Okechukwu Obadiegwu, Obalem Emmanuel, and Obiorah David.
According to Sahara Reporters, the students were said to be travelling in a vehicle operated by AJ Dan Pullo Transport Company, a commercial transport firm based in Onitsha, Anambra state.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies and the Nigerian Law School authorities have not issued any official statement on the matter.
The Wukari-Benue axis has been a long-standing hotspot for criminal activity, with frequent reports of abductions and armed violence.
