Bandits reportedly attacked two communities in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, killed three people and abducted an unspecified number of residents in separate attacks.

Naijaonpoint learnt that security analyst Bakatsine, in a post via 𝕏 on Saturday, disclosed that the first attack happened on Friday, in the Karfi community shortly after Juma’at prayers.

According to ..., one person was killed and the attackers took away two other residents.

Just a few hours later, the bandits reportedly launched an attack in Layin Minister.

Two people were killed, several others were injured, and many residents were abducted during the second attack.

Bakatsine wrote, “Bandits attacked Karfi after Juma’at, killing one and abducting two. Hours later, they hit Layin Minister, killed two, several injured and many abducted. All the communities are situated in Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State.”

Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report, the authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

In other news, the seven farmers abducted last Saturday at Itaogbolu in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State have been freed after spending five days with kidnappers.

The victims were reportedly working on their farms when gunmen stormed the area and whisked them away.

According to Vanguard, a relative of one of the abducted farmers, who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the victims were released on Wednesday night.

“I’m happy to tell you that the kidnappers released all seven farmers on Wednesday night. They are back to their families,” the relative said.

He revealed that the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of ₦100 million, which was later reduced to ₦20 million. However, the families were only able to raise ₦5 million along with food items before securing their release.
