The future of the Batman family has just been forever changed, with a new member added that will give Bruce Wayne the most difficult battle of his life. If fans thought that Bruce would have a tough fight against his son Damian, all grown up into his very own Batman, just wait until he meets his future grandson.
Batman Meets His Grandson, The Son of Damian Wayne
DC K.O. Knightfight #4 by Joshua Williamson, Dan Mora
The current DC K.O. event has sent Batman into an alternate timeline where Nightwing became Batman… after Bruce killed all his other Robins. But the cover art for Knightfight #4 promises a very different shock when Bruce meets the adult, Bat-version of Damian Wayne. A surprise meeting with Damian’s future son, and Bruce Wayne’s grandson.
The reveal comes courtesy of DC’s February 2026 solicitations, and while the cover art doesn’t officially confirm the boy is Damian’s son, the image speaks for itself. Bruce on the ground playing, the boy’s ‘Robin’ themed shirt, and Damian looking on with his version of a smirk. Of course, the synopsis teases that this glimpse of happiness isn’t meant to last:
Bruce Wayne became Batman to strike terror into the hearts of criminals, but he never imagined a world where Gotham City would be so safe it no longer needs its Caped Crusader. But when he arrives in a Gotham where Damian achieved that very peace, will Bruce destroy everything his son has built to overcome the Heart of Apokolips’s test and re-enter the K.O. tournament?
And with that cryptic tease, it appears that this version of Bruce Wayne’s ‘test’ will prove to be even more brutal than witnessing Nightwing’s version of Gotham City. But that still leaves some major questions unanswered.
Who is Damian Wayne’s Son, The Grandson of The Batman?
Obviously the biggest mystery is the identity of this boy, presumably the son of Damian Wayne. While Bruce could never actually achieve a level of peace in Gotham City that allowed him to have a normal, happy family, it appears this Damian has done just that. (Although Damian is still in the Batsuit, so that may not tell the full story of Knightfight #4.)
What isn’t clear is the actual events which transpired to produce this grandson. Did Damian finally claim his role as leader of the League of Assassins, achieving peace through less noble means, and siring a new ‘son of the Demon’? Or did Damian find love and a family in his adulthood? And let’s not forget Damian potentially adopting Terry McGinnis in the future-set Batman #700.
Fans can look forward to this historic meeting of three Bat-generations when DC K.O.: Knightfight #4 arrives February 4, 2026 from DC Comics.
