Battlefield 6 is ready to take the world by storm, once players can actually get in and play the game. While wait times and server issues for AAA titles have been common for quite some time, not all of them are handled equally.
Based on multiple posts from fans on X and other social platforms, players have been greeted by lengthy queue times, which in some cases run in the hundreds of thousands. Other players are getting error codes, with a screen asking them to scan a QR code for assistance. Several users are even reporting a game queue of over 500,000 players. According to SteamDB, roughly 568,553 players are in-game at the time of publication, and the number is rising.

Here’s the full title screen message from EA if things don’t error out, and you happen to get into the queue: “The game servers are currently at max capacity. You have been placed in a queue. You will be connected to online services as there is available space.”
Even following multiple betas and stress tests, it seems like Battlefield 6 is more popular than many expected. However, this trend isn’t new, and things should quiet down as early as this afternoon based on AAA queue-time history. EA is also likely going to roll out more servers once they have enough data, so this interruption shouldn’t last forever.
Given how positive the reviews have been for the multiplayer component, it makes sense that many people are eager for a new Battlefield, even lapsed fans who may have been disappointed with Battlefield 2042.

“How Is This Even Possible”
Players are having mixed reactions to the Battlefield 6 server overload, with some touting its popularity and others decrying the server issues. One player asked, “how this is even possible” while posting a queue of 154,800, with a reply noting that their queue was basically double that, at 306,000.
Once word spread that the game was actually out, others reported that the queue times had gotten even higher. One user notes that they were kicked out of the queue after waiting for it, only to be plopped back in at spot 410,000. The highest queue we’ve seen in our research is 511,200. That’s massive, even by AAA standards.
In any case, be cautious if you’re jumping into Battlefield 6 this weekend. Expect some growing pains, similar to most massive AAA launches, along with queue times. If you’re planning on playing, maybe log on a bit early and find something to do while you wait.
