THE Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 28 year-old man over allegations of criminal intimidation, physical assault, and the sexual abuse of his eight-year old biological daughter.
The arrest was confirmed today by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Nafiu Habib. According to him, the case was reported on December 31, 2025, at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Alkaleri by a relative of the victim, identified as Baffa’ji Muhammed.
Habib stated that the suspect, Baffa’ji Abba, allegedly committed the act on December 30, 2025, at about 6:30 p.m. The suspect reportedly lured the child into a bathroom and sexually assaulted her multiple times in one day, allegedly involving both vaginal and anal penetration.
Upon receiving the complaint, detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer of Alkaleri Division, CSP Kadiri Danjuma, immediately proceeded to the location. The victim was taken to the General Hospital in Alkaleri for urgent medical care, while the suspect was arrested.
The police spokesperson further disclosed that the suspect confessed to the offence during interrogation. He added that the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, Sani Omolori Aliyu, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough and discreet investigation to ensure proper evidence gathering.
Habib noted that the suspect would be formally profiled and charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
