Bayern Munich returned to winning form in emphatic fashion, overpowering VfL Bochum 5-0 on Sunday to reclaim their place at the top of the Bundesliga, Soccernet.football reports.

This dominant display came just days after their humbling 4-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League.

Determined to rebound, Bayern seized control early at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion.

Michael Olise set the tone with a stunning free-kick goal in the 16th minute. Ten minutes later, Jamal Musiala doubled the lead, marking his return from a hip injury with a composed header that left the Bochum defence scrambling.

Bochum, under interim coach Markus Feldhoff following Peter Zeidler’s recent dismissal, struggled to contain Bayern’s relentless attack.

With minimal offensive opportunities, Bochum rarely threatened to get back into the game.

In the second half, Bayern continued their onslaught. Harry Kane joined the scoresheet in the 58th minute, scoring his ninth Bundesliga goal this season.

Not long after, substitute Leroy Sané added Bayern’s fourth, followed by a fine finish from Kingsley Coman to complete the rout.

With this win, Bayern moved back to first place on goal difference, edging past RB Leipzig.

Champions Bayer Leverkusen sit third with 15 points. For Bochum, it was another painful result as they remain at the bottom of the table, managing just one point from eight games so far this season.
