Bayern Munich have secured the services of highly-rated Nigerian midfielder David Emmanuel, handing the 18-year-old a professional contract before sending him on loan to German fourth-tier side Hessen Kassel, Soccernet.football reports.

Emmanuel, a product of Bayern Munich’s FC Bayern World Squad, has taken a significant step in his career after impressing within the club’s international youth development program.

The initiative, designed to identify and nurture elite U19 talents from around the world, has paved the way for his transition into professional football.

The Nigerian youngster first caught Bayern’s attention in April 2022, when he represented FC Hearts at the Bayern Youth Cup in Nigeria. His performances led to a move to VOA Football Academy, where he further honed his skills and eventually helped his team win the prestigious youth tournament that same year.

His rapid development earned him a place in Bayern’s World Squad in 2023, where he was joined by fellow Nigerian prospect Victor Orakpo, who now plays for OGC Nice. The duo participated in several high-profile matches, including a competitive tournament in Argentina, facing top youth sides from Germany, the United States, and South America.

Emmanuel’s consistency and technical ability soon caught the eye of Bayern’s hierarchy, leading to a professional contract offer.
