BBNaija: Excitement as organisers hint at premiere
Organisers of the popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), MultiChoice Nigeria have dropped a hint about the commencement of the season 9 of the show. Though the date for the premiere was not announced, the organisers stated that the show will premiere this month.
In a viral post across different social media pages on Sunday, June 30, the organisers urged fans to clear their schedules and prepare for an unforgettable season. “One Sunday in July, Get Ready! What’s better than One? Remember to mark your calendars! #BBNaijaS9,” ... read.
The announcement came after BBNaija Season 4 winner, Mercy Eke revealed during a live Instagram session that there would not be a ‘All-Stars’ reunion with the previous season’s housemates.
MultiChoice had in a post across various social media platforms in March this year, revealed that for this season, participants would be required to apply in pairs, a departure from the format of previous editions. It commenced acceptance of applications on Wednesday, March 27.

Recall that winner of the 2022 edition dubbed: ‘Level Up’, Josephine Otabor better known as Phyna on the show, recently called out the organisers of the reality TV show for failing to fulfil pledge of over N100 million worth of prizes to her.
The reality TV star took to her Instagram Live to inform the public about the inability of MultiChoice to give her the prize promised.
She said, “Calling you people out, quickly pay the rest. Quickly give me the BTC too na. Quickly give it to me. Quickly give me the BTC the way you give me other things. What’s my business with Quidax. I don’t know Quidax. I didn’t sign contract with Quidax. When I was going on the show, I didn’t know Quidax…”
Meanwhile, the new season promises a special twist wherein ‘couple’ housemates will compete for the title.
