The All Progressives Congress (APC) Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, stated that defeat awaits former President, Goodluck Jonathan, in 2027, regardless of the political party he chooses to contest in the election.

Naijaonpoint reports that Ibrahim made the remark in response to the speculations that Jonathan is reportedly aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 election.

Recall that Jonathan met with the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Abuja on September 12, and later held discussions with ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark, as well as other leaders of the coalition party on September 25, but has yet to make an official statement regarding his intentions.

In an interview with Punch, Ibrahim recalled how the APC defeated Jonathan in 2025, despite his confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to Ibrahim, beating Jonathan in 2027 will be easy because the ADC is not organised.

He said, “Our party defeated him when he was full of confidence in the PDP, and the PDP was full of confidence in itself.

So much that it thought it was going to rule the country for 60 years. How can our party not beat him now that he has lost confidence in that party and has joined a party that has no bearing at all?

“Beating him will be easy because the ADC is not organised, and with the overwhelming support of Nigerians that we enjoy, the APC will defeat him in the 2027 race regardless of his political party.”
