Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is loving life back in Turkey after completing a long-anticipated return to Super Lig side Trabzonspor earlier this summer, Footynaija.com reports.
Onuachu had previously enjoyed a stellar loan spell in the Turkish Super Lig after joining Trabzonspor on a season-long loan from English side Southampton back in the 23/24 season.
During that spell at Papara Park, the towering Nigerian striker made 21 goal contributions (17G and 4A) in 25 appearances across all competitions for Trabzonspor.
After Onuachu’s impressive impact, Trabzonspor tried to secure his services on a permanent basis. But upon a failure to reach an agreement with Southampton, the striker was forced to settle for a return to England ahead of the 24/25 season.
However, Trabzonspor did not give up their pursuit and finally got their man following Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League last season and Onuachu appears to be enjoying life back in Turkey.

“Being here again makes me so happy,” the Super Eagles striker said in quotes revealed on Trabzonspor’s official website.
“When you return to a place you’ve played before and the fans love you, you try to give it your all. I’ll do the same. Because I can feel the immense love our fans have for me. I’ll be here with a different energy.
“When the league starts, as the matches are played, as we progress step by step, we will definitely progress both physically and in terms of strength. Of course, I will continue my fight until the end.”

Onuachu struggled for fitness and form upon returning to Southampton last season. But he’ll be looking to put those struggles behind him and hit the ground running in Turkey.
With a total of 177 club goals to his name so far, the Nigeria international certainly possesses all the tools to excel in Turkey.
Interestingly, he will be battling with fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, who recently joined Galatasaray, for the Super Lig Golden Boot next season.
