Benue Gov Alia Sacks Adviser, Makes Fresh Appointments

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has relieved his Special Adviser on Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Denen Aondoakaa, of his duties.

Naijaonpoint reports that Aondoakaa, who was appointed only 10 months ago, has now been redeployed to the office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor announced sweeping changes affecting several officials at the Bureau.

Those affected include Ajinge Saar and Derby Amine, who were returned to the Ministry of Justice; Margaret Galu, redeployed to the Accountant General’s office; while Shagba Ahura and Rhoda Aboh were sent back to the office of the Head of Service.

The governor also approved the appointment of Mr Terna Ayu as the new Permanent Secretary at the Bureau.

Fresh Appointments

Other appointments announced for the Bureau include:

  • Terkura Dzwungwe – Director, Accounts and Finance
  • Sule Liambee – Director, Administration and Supply
  • Christopher Uza – Director, Local Government Services
  • Esther Osugh – Cashier

In a related move, the governor redeployed a management staff member of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), Noel Wende, to the office of the State Head of Service.

According to the statement, the changes are to take effect immediately.

“Those to takeover at the Bureau are directed to report to their new offices not later than 8am Wednesday, September 24, 2025,” the statement added.
