Paul Onuachu scored in Trabzonspor’s victory over Rizespor on Saturday…
Former Turkey international Sinan Engin believes that Paul Onuachu would have been a better signing for Besiktas than Tammy Abraham, Soccernet.ng reports.
Onuachu has been on fire since his summer transfer from the English side Southampton to Trabzonspor.
He has contributed seven goals in nine appearances for the Black Sea Storm. And whenever he has scored, his team has gotten at least a draw.
Trabzonspor currently sit second in the league, five points behind Galatasaray. They look like the only team that is ready to give the Cimbom a run for their money this season.
Meanwhile, their close rivals, Besiktas, are performing below expectations, as they sit sixth on the Super Lig table. They have picked 13 points from eight games. In fact, on Saturday, they fell to a 2-1 loss to newly-promoted Gençlerbirliği.
This is below expectations, as they spent over 30 million on signings in the summer transfer window.

English striker Tammy Abraham was one of their investments in the summer, but he hasn’t delivered as they would have hoped. The former Chelsea man has managed three goals in eight games for the club.
What Sinan Engin Said About Paul Onuachu
In a related development, former Turkish midfielder Sinan Engin has expressed his disappointment at Abraham’s performance so far. He even compared him to Onuachu
“Besiktas was a better team last season. So why did they spend money on transfers,” Engin said, per Beyaz Futbol.
“If they had continued with the same team and just signed one striker, but not Abraham. They should have signed a striker like Onuachu.”
Onuachu currently sits at the top of the goalscorers’ chart in Turkey, and he will be looking to continue his scoring spree for Trabzonspor. He will also be hoping that his performances earn him a return to the Super Eagles fold soon.
