All three artists have since moved on, but according to the label cofounder, Birdman, no artist is ever as successful and always fails. “Every n—a that left me, was never successful without me. I love them. I got nothing but respect for them. I’m not ever speaking negative, but I studied this game. Every one of them that left me, never been successful without me,” he told podcast host Nick Cannon. Birdman speaks on some of his artists blaming him when their careers don’t work out — and says every rapper that left Cash Money was never successful without him and ends up coming back. Drake followed when his contractual obligations came to an end after the release of Scorpion. Nicki Minaj has maintained some ties with Young Money but has been focusing more on independent ventures and partnerships. All three artists are still doing well away from Cash Money.
