Blake Lively responded to It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni’s new $400 million lawsuit against her and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Baldoni is suing Lively and Reynolds for a litany of charges, including civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, intentional interference with contractual relations, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage.
“This latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is another chapter in the abuser playbook,” Lively’s legal team said in a statement.
“This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender.”
Lively was first to sue, alleging Baldoni sexually harassed her on the set of It Ends With Us and that he ordered his PR team to defame her after the movie’s release.
Baldoni first sued The New York Times, which published a report with Lively’s claims. He is suing the outlet for $250 million.
