Blizzard still has a ton of iconic franchises under its belt, and for roughly 20 years now, players have been celebrating them at BlizzCon, a convention held in Anaheim, California. After a few years off, the event is back in 2026, with a slight twist.

As confirmed by Blizzard, early bird passes will go on sale on November 7, 2025, at 9AM PT. It’s basically the same ticket as the general sale, it’ll just be at a $40 discount.

Although BlizzCon was a previously annual event that could summon as many as 40,000 people for an entire weekend dedicated to Blizzard Entertainment, lockdowns in 2020 forced the company to put a hold on public gatherings. Although the company relaunched the event online and in-person in 2023, it has been on hiatus since then. That changes in 2026, as BlizzCon is back next year from September 12-13.

To celebrate the return, Blizzard is selling “early bird passes” at a rate of $249.99, which includes commemorative items, in-game goods, and a full 2-day admission to the convention. If you miss out on the early bird pass, you’ll be able to snag the “standard sale” passes on Tuesday, November 18 at 9AM PT, while supplies last, at $289.99.

Blizzard notes that the real-life Darkmoon Faire will return (complete with its own $89.99 three-hour event on Saturday evening), as well as the BlizzCon Charity Night event, where Blizzard donates “100% of the purchase price of the BlizzCon Charity Night add-on to Make-A-Wish.” Hands-on gameplay for “World of Warcraft, Diablo IV, Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and Diablo Immortal” are promised.

The Darkmoon Faire is setting up stakes at BlizzCon 2026, casting its spell over Level 2 of the North Hall once more. While every attendee may enter its gates during show hours, the Darkmoon Faire After Hours experience offers a late-night treat for those who wish to extend their stay. This optional add-on grants you entry to an exclusive three-hour event Saturday evening, September 12, to both the Darkmoon Faire and the BlizzCon Store. Also included are 20 Faire Tokens and a collectible credential.

So what about those watching at home? Blizzard confirmed that the opening ceremony and “other programming across the weekend” will be live-streamed for free. While the company has charged for some livestreams and access in the past, that won’t be the case this time.

With World of Warcraft and Diablo 4 still chugging along with expansions, it looks like a few of Blizzard’s major franchises have no end in sight. That could allow for future BlizzCons to return, hopefully with the same annual cadence from 2005 to 2019.

Having attended BlizzCon several times in the past, I can attest to the sheer passion of the fandom, as well as the excitement of the announcements when they truly hit with that audience. Hopefully, Blizzard has something in the works for the future.
