WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Controversial crossdresser Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, has made an appeal to Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy to forgive fellow entertainer Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington and aid in his release from prison.
In a series of posts on his Instagram story on Sunday, Bobrisky expressed concern for Speed Darlington’s well-being. He urged Burna Boy to reconsider his stance and argued that 45 days in prison should be sufficient punishment.
Bobrisky wrote, “I just want to mind my business this year and avoid any issues involving Nigerian celebrities, but my compassionate heart won’t let me stop thinking about important matters. Please, Burna Boy, forgive Speed. Prison is not a pleasant place. I don’t think he can afford the VIP section because it’s quite expensive.
“None of these individuals for whom I’m using my platform to advocate stood up for me when I faced challenges. However, our hearts are different. I can’t bear to see human beings suffer. I sincerely pray that you, Burna, will help secure his release. Forty-five days in prison is enough punishment.”
Additionally, Bobrisky criticized fans for enabling Speed Darlington’s controversial behaviour and emphasized the importance of holding celebrities accountable for their actions.
He added, “Fans, learn to tell your favourites the truth when they go too far. You all applauded Speed when he made unpleasant comments, yet none of you are in prison with him now.”
It is important to note that Speed Darlington was arrested in October 2024 on charges of defamation and cyberstalking Burna Boy. Initially detained in Lagos, he was later transferred to Abuja, where he was held by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in the Guzape area. After being released from police custody, he was re-arrested in November while performing at a show in Owerri, Imo State, just days after returning to the country.
