Some inmates from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre have claimed that controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, was kept in a special male cell throughout the six months he spent in prison.

The prisoners, who shared their experience on The Honest Bunch podcast after regaining freedom, alleged that Bobrisky was treated differently while serving his jail term.

According to them, he was placed in a VIP section of the male wing and had regular visitors.

“We dey prison, and he dey special place inside the prison,” one of the former inmates said in Pidgin.

“People dey come visit am and we dey see am every day. He no dey outside o, but he no join us for the general cell.”

The inmates said they didn’t know Bobrisky personally but always saw him being separated from the rest of them.

They added that the crossdresser never mingled with them but was visible within the facility.

Naijaonpoint recalls that the internet sensation was arrested in early April 2024 for abuse and mutilation of the naira.

On April 12, the court sentenced him to six months in prison without an option of a fine, which is the highest punishment for the offence.

He served the full term and was eventually released on August 5.
