Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked the residence of Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Modu, who is the Officer-in-Charge of Tattaba Out Station under the Bara Division in Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Naijaonpoint reports that the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, December 9, 2025, left a trail of destruction but no recorded casualties.
According to security sources, the assault began around 1:30 am when the terrorists stormed ASP Modu’s compound and looted several items before setting fire to the buildings.
“They stole his Haojue motorcycle, three bicycles, a Golf 3 motor vehicle and other personal items,” a source familiar with the incident told security expert, Zagazola Makama.
The assailants reportedly razed three houses belonging to the officer as well as a Honda Civic vehicle.
Security operatives believe the attackers may have been guided by a local informant who coordinated the operation from within the community.
Investigators who visited the scene documented the destruction, and security patrols in the area have since been increased to prevent a recurrence.
Authorities have advised ASP Modu to exercise increased caution in the coming days due to the potential for further threats to his safety, while proactive surveillance and monitoring have been intensified in Bara and surrounding areas.
