Boosie Badazz Reportedly Hires Lobbyist To Seek Presidential Pardon

Boosie

Rapper Boosie BadAzz is making a bold move in hopes of clearing his record and trying to secure a presidential pardon.

The Louisiana-born artist, real name Torrence Hatch Jr., has hired J.M. Burkman & Associates to lobby the federal government for a presidential pardon following his 2025 guilty plea to a federal firearm charge in San Diego.

The move comes as Boosie faces sentencing later this year.

Boosie’s legal trouble began in May 2023, when he was arrested in San Diego while filming a music video and preparing for a club performance. Police used a helicopter to track him after spotting what appeared to be a gun in his waistband during an Instagram livestream. He later pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and is set to be sentenced on November 21.

The lobbyists, Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl, pleaded guilty in 2022 to telecommunications fraud in Ohio for organizing illegal robocalls during the 2020 presidential election. A federal judge later ruled that their calls targeted Black voters, violating both state and federal voting rights laws. They eventually reached a settlement after a civil lawsuit.

Burkman and Wohl also drew national attention for creating a fake intelligence firm that made false sexual assault accusations against former Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Boosie has publicly begged Trump for a pardon several times but has received no response.
