WATCH THE VIDEO HERE VICE President Kashim Shettima has revealed that the death toll from the suicide bomb attack in the Gwoza area of Borno State on Saturday has now reached 32 individuals. He revealed that a total of 42 people were admitted to the specialist hospital following the incident, with 14 already discharged after receiving medical care, while 26 are still undergoing treatment. VP Shettima personally extended donations to all the victims and expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic explosions. In addition, he relayed President Bola Tinubu’s sympathies to the people of Gwoza and Borno State. Accompanying the Vice President were Deputy Governor Umar Kadafur, Senator Ali Ndume, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari, former Nigerian Ambassador to China Baba Ahmed Jidda, and other government officials. The suicide bombings, carried out by four individuals, resulted in the initial loss of 18 lives on Saturday, with many others sustaining various injuries, ranging from abdominal ruptures to skull and limb fractures. President Tinubu, through his spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, denounced the horrific event as an act of terror and expressed solidarity with the victims’ families and the Borno State Government. He emphasized the government’s commitment to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of all citizens. Tinubu vowed that those responsible for such senseless violence would face justice and affirmed his administration’s unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and order throughout the nation.
