WATCH THE VIDEO HERE THE Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum has lifted the curfew that was imposed following the Kawuri bomb blast, which resulted in the deaths of 16 individuals and left several others in critical condition. The government yesterday temporarily eased the curfew to allow Muslims to participate in the Friday (Jumaat) prayers. In a statewide broadcast, the governor announced the decision while extending his condolences to the families affected by the Kawuri attack. He explained that the curfew was necessary to prevent Boko Haram insurgents from exploiting the situation to cause further chaos in the state. “I wish to express my sympathies to the families of those impacted by this tragic event and to all the people of Borno State. I also extend my condolences to those injured and currently receiving medical treatment,” he said. “We stand together in grief and solidarity as we denounce this act of senseless violence,” he added. Governor Zulum mentioned that protests in the state had been hijacked by hoodlums, who attempted to vandalize public infrastructure, but were thwarted by the swift response of the military and other security forces. He urged residents to continue their daily activities, affirming that the security of the state would not be compromised for any reason.
