BORNO: Three children found dead in father’s car

Borno

RESIDENTS of the Zannari area of Maiduguri were thrown into mourning yesterday night after the bodies of three children were discovered in their father’s car.

Two of the victims, aged three and two, were identified as the children of Babagana Zanna Jaridama, a well-known social media political critic. The third victim was his neighbour’s son.

According to Zanna, the children were abducted on Tuesday by an unidentified woman who lured them away under the pretext of offering alms.

He alleged that the killings might be linked to a recent post he made accusing some politicians of sabotaging Governor Babagana Zulum.

“Two of the victims are my children, while the third is my neighbour’s son. After two days of searching and appeals, we found their corpses inside my car around midnight on Thursday,” Zanna told newsmen.

He confirmed that the case had been reported to the police and called for a thorough investigation to ensure justice.

The bodies were reportedly taken to a hospital for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Efforts journalists to reach the Police Public Relations Officer of the Borno State Command, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or messages.

The chilling incident has sparked outrage across Maiduguri, with residents urging security agencies to swiftly identify and prosecute those behind the crime.
