This was revealed in a statement yesterday from Brazil’s Foreign Ministry. According to the ministry, BRICS and Nigeria share aligned objectives, as both are committed to fostering collaboration among Global South nations and advocating for the reform of international organizations. “With the sixth-largest population in the world—also the largest in Africa—and as one of the continent’s leading economies, Nigeria shares mutual interests with other BRICS members. “It actively contributes to strengthening South-South cooperation and advancing global governance reforms, which are key priorities during Brazil’s current presidency,” the statement read.
