Former Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency representative, Danji Usman, has officially announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Usman made the declaration in a statement to journalists on Saturday in Jalingo, explaining that the move would allow him to pursue his political ambitions ahead of the 2026/2027 elections.

He thanked his supporters in Southern Taraba, across the state, and in the diaspora for their unwavering solidarity since his departure from the APC, describing their backing as evidence of a shared vision to “rescue the people of Taraba from the grip of bad governance.”

Usman added that his decision to join the ADC followed “careful consideration, due diligence, and wide consultations,” noting that the party provides a viable platform for engaging in the democratic process and promoting people-centered policies.

“I, therefore, call on all my supporters, sympathizers, and every lover of good governance to rally behind this movement.

“Let us join hands to liberate the downtrodden, lift our people from poverty, and bring succor to communities in need by standing firmly with the ADC in every way,” he said.
