FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has confirmed having sleepless nights.
NaijaOnPoint Nigeria reports that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has revealed that he has been having sleepless nights over the need to deliver key infrastructure projects in Karu and its surrounding communities.
Wike made this known on Friday during the flag-off of the reconstruction and dualisation of Karu Road, from Karu Interchange to Customs Clinic Junction, alongside other township road projects.
According to the minister, prominent local leaders including AMAC Chairman Christopher Maikalangu and former FCT Senator Philip Aduda have been consistent in pressing him to expand development in the area for the benefit of residents.
“Delivering projects for the people is not about titles but about building relationships that impact lives,” Wike said.
The minister announced additional reconstruction works from Customs Clinic Junction to CBN Quarters Junction, as well as upgrades on EFCC Road, NIA Quarters Road, Pasi Road, and Primus Hospital Road. He also confirmed that streetlights would be installed to improve safety.
Wike disclosed that the contractor has a 10-month timeline to complete the projects, which he believes will enhance business activity and boost the local economy.
He further urged residents to acknowledge the efforts of leaders like Maikalangu, who have been instrumental in pushing for development, when making decisions in future elections.
